Estella has AHC, which is short for Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood. AHC is an ultra-rare neurological disease that affects 1 in 1 million kids. AHC causes episodes of paralysis, uncontrollable eye movement, uncontrollable muscle movement, intellectual disabilities, behavior disorders, and difficulty walking. These episodes can last for minutes, or even days and they occur without warning. She suffers on a daily basis. Currently, there is no cure for AHC. But AHCF is funding research to develop a cure, and with enough money, we believe we can END AHC.
